Discover

An event brings fifteen trades together over a few days. We know these ones: we have watched them set up, serve, play and pack down, here and elsewhere.

Photography and film

What you will still have in ten years.

  • Germain BélanFilm-maker and licensed drone pilot · Combaillaux, Hérault
Camera drone in flight above the lake at sunset.
Aerial view of a ruined castle and the mas below, in the middle of the garrigue.

    01 / 02

Germain films weddings and events, from close portraits to wide shots.

Licensed with the French civil aviation authority, he adds the view from above: the hamlet, its roofs and the garrigue around it.

The rest of the year he shoots films for companies, under the name Icodrone Production.

  • Karolina PierscieniakWedding photographer

The witnesses at the lectern during the ceremony, sage-green suits and a flowered arch.

    01 / 03

    Karolina photographs weddings.

Her work is better looked at than described: her website and her Instagram say more than we could.

Flowers

What nobody notices, and everybody misses when it is not there.

  • La Canopée SauvageMaster florist
Wreath of dried flowers, everlastings and statice, hanging from the back of an old chair.
Bridal bouquet in coral and peach, roses and eucalyptus, resting on a rattan stool.

    01 / 02

As a Master Florist, what matters to me is bespoke work, demanding craft and faultless quality for the couples who choose this estate.

At the table

Everything that is eaten and shared, from the first platter to the last cake.

  • Pivoine et SucrePastry
Manon, pastry chef at Pivoine et Sucre, piping a dessert.
Three-tier wedding cake in ivory buttercream, white roses and yellow gerberas.
Cream-petal tart in its Pivoine et Sucre box.

    01 / 03

Pivoine et Sucre is Manon — the daughter of the family, and a pastry chef.

Pastry has held her for a long time. She learned her trade in the pâtisseries of the region before setting up on her own, under her own name, with a further qualification in chocolate work.

A wedding cake, a birthday cake, a croquembouche or a table of desserts: she is the one to call.

  • Maison RenaultButcher, charcutier, caterer · Jacou, Hérault
Charcuterie and cheese platters put together at the Maison Renault counter.
Tiered cheese stand on wood, with fresh figs and flowers.

    01 / 02

Butcher, charcutier, cheesemonger and grocer under one roof: everything is chosen at the counter.

They also cater on site and prepare sharing platters, so nobody has to cook on the day.

Music

What decides the hour at which people finally go to bed.

  • New Orleans Gospel 4tetGospel vocal quartet
The four singers of New Orleans Gospel 4tet, dressed in black against a dark curtain, mid-song.
The four singers gathered around a grand piano, in blue shirts.

    01 / 02

New Orleans Gospel 4tet brings four voices together: Flora Sicot, Rachel Ratsizafy, David Bardy and Sylvain Padra.

For more than twenty years they have sung together in France and abroad, with a repertoire running from traditional gospel through blues, soul and rhythm & blues.

Sometimes entirely a cappella, their songs move from stillness to celebration. For a wedding, a ceremony or any gathering, they do what gospel does best: pull everyone together around the music.

  • Philippe BalatierDJ, keyboards and machines
Philippe Balatier at his machines, in blue and red stage light.
Philippe Balatier from behind at the decks, arm raised, facing the crowd under the garlands.

    01 / 02

Philippe co-founded NoJazz, the electro-jazz band born in 2001 and played far beyond France.

His career has put him alongside Isaac Hayes, Didier Lockwood and Yannick Noah; NoJazz’s American tours led to Earth, Wind & Fire, and to a session with Maurice White and Stevie Wonder.

Behind the decks he keeps the same ear as on stage: he reads the room before choosing the next track.
